We believe this item would have been handmade by a craftsman during the Victorian era.
 
We don't across many in such a versatile size, with considerable design and craftsmanship for its age. It was most likely originally designed as a wash stand, but now would work well as a side table in a hallway, lamp stand in a bedroom or linen cupboard in a bathroom.
