A beautiful and substantial antique carved wooden sideboard, finished in a rich dark tone with attractive grain and lots of traditional character.
 
The sideboard features two spacious drawers above two large cupboard doors, providing plenty of useful storage. The front is particularly decorative, with raised carved floral and foliate detailing to the cupboard doors, carved panels between the drawers and attractive fluted columns running down each side and through the centre.
 
The two upper drawers are fitted with traditional decorative metal drop handles, with matching period-style fittings to the cupboard doors.
 
The narrow dovetail joints in the drawers really do demonstrate the craftsmanship and age of this item.
 
The sideboard also retains its key and working locks, a lovely original-style feature that adds to the character of the piece.
 
The cabinet stands on turned front feet and has a substantial moulded top with an attractive shaped edge. The top has a lovely deep colour with visible natural wood grain, making this a particularly handsome statement piece.

In good overall condition, with just the odd scratch, mark and minor sign of use here and there.
 
A very attractive and substantial piece that would work beautifully as a dining room sideboard, hallway cabinet, living room storage cupboard or statement piece of traditional furniture.
