A lovely antique captain’s armchair with plenty of character and a wonderfully warm, aged finish.
 
The chair features a beautifully figured solid elm seat with an attractive grain, surrounded by a curved back and arm rail. The back is supported by a series of turned spindles and topped with a shaped central backrest, giving the chair its distinctive traditional appearance.
 
Raised on turned legs with decorative stretchers beneath, this is a substantial and characterful chair that would work particularly well as a desk chair, occasional chair or statement piece in a country-style interior.
 
The chair has a lovely time-worn appearance, with variations in colour and patina throughout that have developed with age and use.
