A beautiful antique oak chest of drawers with wonderfully decorative carved and moulded detailing.

The chest is arranged with two smaller drawers over two full-width drawers and features particularly attractive geometric applied mouldings to the drawer fronts. Each drawer is finished with decorative brass drop handles and traditional keyhole escutcheons.

Made from oak with a lovely rich colour and prominent grain throughout, the chest has developed plenty of character and patina over the years. The moulded top, decorative drawer fronts and shaped detail to the base make this a particularly attractive example.

A substantial and very characterful piece which would work beautifully in a bedroom, hallway or living space and offers a useful amount of storage.

There are some losses to sections of the applied decorative mouldings on the drawer fronts, some slight splitting to the timber on one side, and there is an old repair to the rear left foot which has been secured with screws. Also some marks on the top.
