2226 Oak Barley Twist Drop Leaf Table with Pie Crust Edge
This is a really beautiful vintage barley twist drop-leaf table.
The table is solid and chunky, with unusual barley twist legs and pie crust edging.
The table is very practical as it can fold-up when not in use. It can then be used as a decorative hall table or stored easily, to be brought out when needed. It would be great for dinner parties or at Christmas time.
The table top has been produced from quarter sawn oak, which is one of the best cuts of oak from the tree. In addition to this being a beautiful piece of wood, with sought-after medullary ray flecks, quarter sawing increases the structural soundness of the board. They are less likely to twist, warp or cup, hold a better finish and do not allow fluids to penetrate easily.
